Pretty in Pink

Its no secret I love pink. I like bright pink, baby pink and metallic pink…which is strange really as I wouldn’t describe myself as a particularly ‘girlie’ girl. But fashion for me is about feeling good about yourself and pink clothing always does that for me.

Todays look is based around a fabulous bargain jumper I bought from New Look. Its just £9.99 and is available in a number of colours – its shade is ‘shell pink’ which is a lovely flattering pink perfect if you dont want to go too pink (if thats possible, but hey I love pink!). It has a high neck, sloughy shape and fitted sleeves which creates a very flattering fit. I went for the small as I didnt want it too loose fitting. The jumper is available in 9 different colours plus some petite and tall options too and I definitely recommend it – find it here.

For a feminine look, I teamed it with a silver pleated skirt, pearl necklace and silver brogues. I wanted the look to be pretty but not fussy so kept it simple. I just love pleated skirts and keep buying them in various colours, as theres something about the ‘swoosh’ you get when wearing pleats that just makes you feel great!

The longer length necklace creates a flattering accessory drawing the eye downwards and for a cute quirky look I teams the brogues with glittery ankle socks rather than tights.

I think this is a pretty, feminine look without looking too girlie (I am 43!). So are you ready to embrace some pink for when Spring arrives?  How do you style it, I’d love to know…

Just TU good…

Have you been into the Sainsburys clothing section lately? Well I have and it is looking VERY good. Throughout the summer bought quite a few TU clothing pieces that I shared on Instagram and their AW16 collection definitely doesnt disappoint!

I first saw this jumper due to Alex Stedman (of the Frugality blog) sharing it on Instagram and I am so glad I did. It is just lovely. This is seriously one of the nicest jumpers I have ever had, and no I am not getting paid to say that – I bought this outfit with my hard earned money and at only £34 for top and bottom you really cant go wrong! The knit is described as ‘Popcorn’ knit and close up you can see why. It has graduated sections of different textures and is so soft.  It has quite a slouchy fit too – I went for the 12 but probably could of sized down but I like the looser fit with this type of jumper.I also bought a pair of their skinny jeans (first time denim shopping at TU for me) and I was impressed with their quality. They are stretchy, true to size (I went for a 12 and they are slightly loose on the waist) and best of all come in a short length! Their fitted shape balances out the slightly boxy shape of the jumper as being petite and curvy I usually try to keep my silhouette quite streamlined.

I absolutely love my bargain supermarket sweep!  So are you clothes shopping while you’re food shopping too? What gems have you found?

Green sparkle

A little way back I bought a great green sequin jumper from Primark (see it in my Primark Haul blog). I love green. I don’t know why – I’ve got green eyes and am a Pisces so I don’t know thats got anything to do with it!

Todays outfit is a simple one for everyday wear – jumper, jeans and boots. Simple. Its great to dress up but everyday cant be a catwalk!
I really like the sparkle in this jumper – at £10 its a bargain and a slightly loose fit so I went for a size 10. The black jeggings from Dorothy Perkins are great – lots of Lycra and you get them in a short length. Again I am wearing a 10.

I don’t wear tons of make up but wore green eyeshadow and a touch of lipgloss. The necklace is vintage but adds a bit to interest without being too blingy. For layering I have added a black long sleeve tee underneath with the edges showing. Again, simple styling for everyday wear.

Primark Haul!

Theres no two ways about it – I love Primark.
Whenever I’m in London I always make sure I visit one of the big stores and have a good shop.

My haul this week wasn’t huge but full of bargains. I’m trying to cutback a bit on the amount of clothes I have so I was more selective than normal!!!

Metallic buckle shoes – £6 (reduced from £14)

LOVE these shoes and couldn’t believe when they went through the till at only £6! A dark metallic grey with three buckled straps and a small heel. They zip up the back so no need to fiddle with the buckles. They are so comfortable and perfect with skinny jeans or dresses – I’m in love!

Sequin green jumper – £10

I love green and this jumper for a tenner will be really versatile over Christmas. Got a size 10 and its quite long (covers my bum – hooray) with a relaxed fit. Looks great with a short leather skirt.

Leopard print maxi skirt – £5 (reduced from £14)

I had umm’ed and ahh’ed about this skirt when I first saw it but couldn’t justify the £14 full price tag and it came up very long at my height. In Oxford St they only had size 8’s left in the sale but I managed to squeeze into one as it has an elasticated waist…and being smaller its length came up shorter – result! Couldn’t resist it for just £5. Going to wear it with a black crop top and heels for evening wear.

White textured dress – £5 (reduced from £12)

Love this space age style dress. Its made out of a thick jersey with a textured prism type effect. Again went for the size 10 and its nicely waisted so great for my petite frame. How I’ll style a white dress in winter I’m not sure…but watch this space!

Love them or hate them all this for under £30 is pretty amazing. Have you bought some amazing bits lately from Primark?
