£20 Primark shop

So, I’ve been trying to ‘buy less and buy better’ as my wardrobe was bulging at the seams with lots of ‘bargains’ that really weren’t that great. This has meant an end to big Primark hauls and the beginning of more careful shopping…

…well kind of!  The other day I allowed myself a visit with the rule I could spend just £20 and anything I bought needed to fit into my AW16 wardrobe.

So what did I get with my £20? Well a pretty wonderful mix of things if I do say so myself!  Take a look…

Pattern shirt – £7.00

A shirt covered in pineapples, ladybirds, stars, butterlies, hearts, cacti, eyes and much more you say? How could I say no! This is an amazing price and they also do a cute dark blue stars version. I sized up for a looser fit and it looks great with a pair of skinnies.

Brogues – £5 (was £12)

A classic brogue will never go out of style and this shoe is perfect for Autumn. I loved the no laces (I hate messy styling) and the studs add a cool edge. Plus they are super comfortable.

Leopard print blouse – £3 (was £8)

I love a bit of leopard print and this top is effortlessly stylish. Easy to throw on, with a slightly dipped hem back and the exposed zip at the back adds that bit of luxe detailing.

Gold flats – £3 (were £8)

Party season is nearly upon us and I am not a heels lover. I looked at these when they were full price and passed but for the price of a glossy magazine? I just had to!

Sunglasses – £1/pair (were £3/pair)

Ok I know summer is over but you can never have too many sunglasses. As well as a couple of designer pairs (which I keep for years) I like to have a few cheap and cheerful pairs that I can leave in the car or my handbag and dont have to worry if they get broken/lost.

So thats my mini haul! I think I stayed within my rules and have already worn the shirt and brogues loads, so for me its £20 well spent.

All available now in store at Primark

How many is too many?

My name is Sarah and I have a problem… with buying sunglasses.

Like most of you, sunglasses are a staple of my wardrobe throughout the summer and I can’t go anywhere without some. I love the fact they add an extra element to an outfit and if needed, hide a multitude of sins. No make up on? Eye bags? No problem!

I choose different shapes for different dressing styles and always keep spare pair in both my handbag and car glove-box.

At last count I had 14 pairs and I can honestly say I dont regret a pair of them! From £150 RayBans to £1 Primark sale buys, sunglasses really are THE summer accessory essential – throw them in your bag or suitcase this summer and they will make any outfit look better…

So whats your favourite pair? And do you make sure you have a matching pair for every outfit too?

I’d love to know…

Suns out…Sunnies on!

I do love a pair of sunglasses.  I have quite a lot of them and use them as you would jewellery, changing the style to suit my fashion look.  I like to have a some cheap and cheerful pairs which I add to when new trends occur and one or two more premium ones in classic styles that wont date.

When www.discountedsunglasses.co.uk recently asked if I would like to choose a pair from their range I immediately fell in love this this Michael Kors pair. Sporty and cool looking they are very different from the normal cats eyes styles I go for, but at the same time very classic looking. They were also discounted from £84.00 to just £49.99!

There have some lovely little details such as the Michael Kors name in silver simply on the side and an MK logo on the inside base of each arm.  The quality shines through and you really notice it when wearing them in bright sunshine – the glare protection is amazing.  And best of all I couldn’t believe I could get a pair of Michael Kors sunglasses for under £50!

I styled them with skinny jeans, a bright tee and my favourite Cath Kidston ‘Cloud’ trainers for a laid back casual look.  What do you think?michael kors sunglasses outfit via Always a Blue Sky Girl styling blog

Its a busyish Tuesday, I’ve got work to do, my son is still off school on his Easter break, the sun is shining and its a jeans and t-shirt kinda day for me…

I’ve teamed a boxy cat face t-shirt from TopShop with a boyfriend cut jean and a lowish heel patent studded shoe.  Being a shortie I’ve rolled and sewed the jeans to just above ankle length – as they are a bargain price pair from Primark a bit of customisation can make all the difference.  Plus a shorter length makes them much more flattering for the more petite girl.
